Doug Wright Holland passed away in 2009, and Knight retired in 2013. His son, Michael Knight, also worked at the firm. At the end of 2013, Holand & Knight merged with Hunton & Williams and renamed itself Norton Rose Fulbright.

The firm is located in Los Angeles, California. It currently has a total of 355 attorneys. The firm was formed in 1931 as a partnership between John C. Teedley and O. B. Fairbanks where they combined their talents to offer legal services to a wide variety of clients ranging from individuals to businesses to nonprofit organizations. In 1948, the name was changed to Holland & Knight after Joseph P. Holland and John Treadwell Knight became partners in the business.
