John Teets is the Vice President of Marketing for Greyhound Lines Inc., which operates bus lines throughout North America. John Teets was born in 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri. He began his career in marketing with Monsanto Corporation, where he worked in various roles including market research and advertising. In 1989, he joined Greyhound Lines as its Vice President of Marketing. Under his leadership, Greyhound Lines grew from a small regional bus company into one of the largest transportation companies in North America. In 2003, John was named Vice President of Marketing for the Americas, and he served in that position until his appointment as Vice President of Marketing for North America in 2006. In this role, he led all marketing initiatives for Greyhound Lines in North America. John Teets was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1956. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and achieved a B.A. degree in History in 1978. After school, he worked as an advertising copywriter for several small businesses before becoming promotions director for Greyhound Bus Lines in 1987. He held this position until his retirement in 2006.
Teets has been involved with many historical organizations over the years, including The National Museum of American History and The Ford Museum of American Art, where he served on the Board of Directors from 2004-to 2006.
In addition to his work with Greyhound, Teets is also a member of the Historical Society of Nashville and Davidson County and has written articles for the society’s newsletter.

He began his career with Greyhound Lines as an operator in 1978 and quickly progressed through the ranks. In 1998, he was appointed Regional Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic Region and held this position until his retirement in 2009. During his tenure, John was responsible for all of Greyhound Lines’s operations in the Mid-Atlantic region, which encompassed five states: Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
